First edition, excellent presentation copy inscribed by the author to the half title in his iconic purple ink ‘Lilian Morgan from the Author Jan 1887’. Clear and unfaded. Original red cloth binding, gilt titles to the front and spine. Minor marking to the covers, and a little foxing internally otherwise a very good example. Contains 37 illustrations by the author. A lovely association copy of this beloved children’s title.
